There has been a new Bootleg of Chicago December 8th 1979 on EBAY for a bit... i took a chance and ordered one... I had most of the show on VHS before so it is really not new to me... The new dvd's offer very slight picture up grade... just slight... Still lots of snow on the screen during some songs, but the sound is much nicer...

I was hopeing the dvd's would of been silver dvds but they were just DVDR's and a home computer print job cover.... The dvd's cost me $38 Canadian in total.... i have nothing against the seller at all and he was fine to buy from, but if anyone is thinking of buying this show beware it is just dvdr's.... It would be best to trade for it or download it...

This show i had not watched in ages... amazing version of Punk Meets The Godfather! The Encore is hot as well.... it's a good show and i forgot how nice it was to watch a 79 tour show... they had a good set list on that tour...

The nice surprise was with the slightly better picture and colour on the dvd i can confirm Pete used a Les Paul in the same finnish i have... a Brown Sunburst... Rare to see him with a Brown sunburst... but during Drowned he is using a Number 8 Brown Sunburst Deluxe... Makes me feel better that my LP Deluxe is at least close in colour to one of Pete's stage axes....

ps.... i have some great new Who stuff to watch and my dvd player is dying... go figure.... i'll have to pick up a replacement soon...

turns out the chicago dvd's i bought are not the new version after all.... over at the Who Tour site i was informed that the new dvd of Chicago 79 has a time code counter in the corner of the screen... picture said to be excellent.... it can be down loaded from Long Live Rock.org i hear...

I have a copy on the way thanks to a forum brother.... so saddly i paid $38 for the EBAY dvd and it's not worth it... oh well that is the chance you take when messing around with bootleggers!

thanks to a fellow fan i now have a dvdr of the new Chicago 79 from a better source..... this version has a time code editing counter at the top of the screen like Pontiac 75 has.... The picture is slightly better then the copy i bought off EBAY.... But the sound is a good improvement..... saddly WHO ARE YOU is cut in half on the new version but the quality makes up for that and i have the old version anyways....
